Anticipating Change and Planning Ahead

Dan Eizans, Simantel’s Director of Customer Experience, doesn’t just think about the future. He builds strategy around what might come next. In this episode Misty sits down with Dan to talk about his passion for foresight and how he’s helping clients (and Simantel) think ahead to prepare for long-term change.

With a background in journalism and digital experience strategy, Dan has spent his career listening for patterns. Now he’s formalizing that skillset through the University of Houston’s Strategic Foresight program where he’s adding new tools to his work like trend analysis, scenario building and systems thinking.

Dan breaks down what it means to think in terms of decades instead of deliverables, and how frameworks like STEEP (analyzing Social, Technological, Environmental, Economic and Political factors) and scenario planning can help organizations move from reactive to resilient.

Whether you’re a strategist, a leader or just someone feeling overwhelmed by change, Dan’s perspective offers a lens into how change unfolds — and how to stay ahead of the curve.

“When you think about things from a foresight and futures perspective, which is really the study of change, everything runs in different cycles, and everything is really truly interconnected.”
